To grow the economy and make the troops stronger, build cities and military bases.

Use the army, diplomacy, or stratagem to expand the territory.

Fight in turn or real time depending on the version of the game.

Arrange reasonable tactics to take advantage of terrain, weather, and suitable types of troops.

Forge alliances or betray to gain the upper hand.

Control key areas such as ports and resource mines to gain a strategic advantage.
